The PET center is the only center in Macedonia and in the region, which offers high care according to the strictest world standards. PET/CT is the most effective imaging technique which is used for determining the diagnosis, determining the degree of the disease, evaluating the effects of the therapy received for the treatment of cancer, planning radiotherapy and chemotherapy in most cases of cancer. Three years ago, 200 patients were registered, while today 1000 patients are registered. The despair that overwhelms everyone when you learn that you or someone close to your family is affected by cancer, can be less if they know that the person with cancer can be treated in Macedonia, and can receive high care according to world standards, at all stages starting from the moment of discovery of the disease and beyond.
Even in the most difficult Seychelles Email List moments there is hope, which is offered by the most modern medicine, the numbers speak better, for three years the number of patients in the PET center at the "Acibadem Sistina" clinical hospital, the only center of this type in Macedonia and in the region. If in 2014 there were 200 patients, now there are 1,000 satisfied patients. PET/CT is the most efficient recording technique used for diagnosis, for determining the stage of the disease, for evaluating the effect of therapy taken to fight cancer, and for planning radiotherapy and chemotherapy in most of cancer cases. This registration technique consists of the combination of positron emission tomography (which enables the imaging of changes in the tissues and organs of the human body at the metabolic level) and computer tomography (which provides detailed anatomical information).

PET/CT has been one of our most important investments since the opening or creation of the hospital. If three years ago Macedonian patients had to travel abroad, now they can receive the most modern services offered by this center here in our country. We must not forget that it is about patients who are seriously ill and traveling on long distances is difficult for them - says Dr. Liljana Muratovska, specialist in nuclear medicine, at the "Acibadem Sistina" clinical hospital. PET/CT is also applied in cardiology, neurology, but mainly for determining the diagnosis in oncology. We have also previously followed the effect of the therapy, it has not been difficult to determine whether the tumor is active or not. Now, the "life" of the tumor tissue is very clearly followed.
